Saudi Arabia announces employment opportunities for Pakistanis

Saudi Arabia has announced an extensive hiring push for Pakistani IT professionals as part of its Vision 2030 digital transformation goals.

This announcement came after a meeting between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, with both leaders discussing workforce demands and cooperation in several sectors.

The Crown Prince conveyed that Saudi Arabia requires “hundreds of thousands” of skilled IT professionals from Pakistan, a demand expected to increase as the Kingdom aims to diversify its economy and expand its technology sector.

Prime Minister Sharif shared this update during a cabinet briefing, emphasising the potential these opportunities hold for Pakistan’s tech talent.

In related news, the Prime Minister revealed Qatar’s plans to establish an IT park in Pakistan, aimed at supporting education and skill-building programs for the tech workforce, preparing them for international roles.

This initiative is expected to create a stronger, globally competitive workforce in Pakistan.

Beyond the IT sector, the meeting also included discussions on joint projects in solar energy, mining, and agriculture, aiming to enhance economic ties. A Saudi investment delegation recently visited Pakistan, with plans for reciprocal visits soon to advance collaborative efforts.
