The Sindh government has unveiled a new facility for vehicle registration that can be completed from home. This announcement was made by Sharjeel Memon, the Minister for Information, Transport, and Excise, during a press conference.
Memon explained that the decision followed a crucial meeting with the Excise Department, which decided to introduce this home-based registration service.
Under the new system, a government fee of ten thousand rupees will apply, with biometric data collection and verification conducted at the individual’s home.
This move aims to streamline the registration process and offer greater convenience to vehicle owners.

In addition to this new service, Memon shared that the Excise Department had previously generated 6.7 billion rupees within just four hours from the sale of premium number plates.
He also announced plans for another auction in September, expected to further boost departmental revenue. Previously, the Sindh government had eliminated the 60-day limit for vehicle registration.Â
Now, it is mandatory for individuals to purchase only registered vehicles. Memon emphasized that buyers of unregistered vehicles will need to complete the registration process before they can use their new vehicles.
This policy shift is part of a broader effort to enhance regulatory compliance and streamline vehicle transactions.
