Recent reports state that the government intends to offer rewards to residents who decide to pay their Hajj fees in US currency.
Also, according to APP, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has set aside a special 25% quota for pilgrims who deposit their money in US dollars.
The government’s efforts to increase the rapidly decreasing foreign reserves have prompted this action. In accordance with a report released by SAMAA on Friday, pilgrims would get a special discount if they pay their application fees and other fees in US dollars.
The Hajj Policy 2023 draught, which was referenced by SAMAA, also specifies that pilgrims will have the choice of selecting the currency in which they choose to make payments. According to the new Hajj regulation, those who opt to pay in dollars would not be subject to the voting procedure, according to APP.
