CCTV cameras installed for PSL security stolen from Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium

At the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, numerous CCTV cameras, generator batteries, and fiber optic cables were taken. The Pakistan Super League (PSL 8) Lahore leg matches were being watched by the cameras, which apparently cost millions of rupees.

Also, it was discovered that the stadium’s lighting generators’ batteries were missing. In the Gulberg police station, two cases have been filed against the thieves as a result of the crime.

It is vital to note that rigorous security precautions have always been in place for cricket matches played in Lahore, especially since the devastating terrorist assault on the Sri Lankan cricket team in 2009.

Six players were hurt in the incident, which also claimed the lives of six security workers, two bystanders, and the team as they traveled from their hotel to the Gaddafi Stadium. For sake of context, this indeed turns out to be a serious security breach having the CCTV cameras for the PSL mega event stolen.
