According to Dr. Naeemi, the minimum amount for Sadaqah Fitr and Fidya-e-Soum this year is set at 220 Pakistani Rupees (PKR) per person, calculated based on the value of wheat. For those opting to pay according to barley, the amount is 450 PKR per person.

He further elaborated that calculations based on other commodities include 1,650 PKR for dates, 2,500 PKR for raisins, and 5,000 PKR for high-quality raisins (munakka).

“Sadaqah Fitr is an obligation on every Muslim—whether free or enslaved, male or female,” Dr. Naeemi emphasized, encouraging philanthropists and individuals to contribute according to their means. He clarified that the standard measure (Sa’a) for barley, dates, and raisins is approximately 2 kilograms (with caution), while a stricter measure of 4 kilograms applies in certain calculations.

For those compensating for 30 missed fasts (Fidya), the amounts are as follows: 6,600 PKR based on wheat, 13,500 PKR based on barley, 49,500 PKR based on dates, 75,000 PKR based on raisins, and 150,000 PKR based on high-quality raisins. Dr. Naeemi noted that these figures reflect a cautious approach to ensure compliance with religious guidelines.

Addressing the penalty (Kaffarah) for intentionally breaking a fast, the Chairman stated that it requires observing 60 consecutive fasts or feeding 60 poor individuals two meals each. Additionally, he mentioned a concession for those using government-subsidized flour, allowing them to pay a reduced rate of 160 PKR for Sadaqah Fitr or Fidya-e-Soum.
