For students outside Punjab, the eligibility requirements will mirror those in the province, with a minimum of 65% marks needed to receive a laptop. She stressed that education is a top priority, and ensuring access to resources like laptops and scholarships is the government’s duty.
She also noted that students from Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should have equal access to educational opportunities. Additionally, she announced that meritorious students enrolling in prestigious colleges will have their fees covered by the Punjab government.
Maryam Nawaz assured that lack of funds will not hinder educational initiatives and confirmed that students from other provinces would be evaluated using the same merit criteria as those in Punjab. The meeting also approved plans for a Vice-Chancellors’ Conference and a Tech Expo in the province.
