The Punjab government has decided to set a speed limit of 60 km/h for motorcyclists across the province. This decision was made during the 22nd provincial cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday.
The meeting, which discussed 91 agenda items, also approved launching a campaign to register all vehicles in Punjab. Additionally, it approved changes to the laws mandating inspection and certification of motorcycles after one year.

Other key decisions included the approval of the Punjab Hindu Marriage Act and steps to address declining cotton and sugarcane production due to climate change.
The cabinet also greenlit interest-free loans of up to Rs30 million under the Punjab Asaan Karobar Finance Scheme, with free land offered for the initiative.
For farmers, the cabinet approved increasing the number of Kisan Cards to 750,000, raising the cash limit by 30%, and confirmed the distribution of 9,000 green tractors across the province.
Regarding healthcare, funds for the Punjab Chief Minister Dialysis Program were increased to Rs10 million, and a new special court will handle property matters for overseas Pakistanis.
The cabinet also emphasized establishing charging stations for electric vehicles across the province, with further steps planned to enhance road safety and public convenience.
