In a statement, the ISPR revealed that Field General Court Martial had, in the first phase, issued punishments to these accused individuals. The May 9 protests led to widespread chaos, with state installations, including the General Headquarters (GHQ), being ransacked. In response, numerous PTI workers were detained, and over 100 civilians are currently facing military trials for their alleged roles in the violence.
Despite the allegations, PTI has denied any involvement in the attacks, maintaining that the party had no role in targeting state properties. It has repeatedly called for a judicial investigation to uncover the truth behind the events. The trials and the party’s claims have sparked debate over accountability and justice in the wake of the unrest.
