The Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s new rescue air ambulance service has completed its inaugural patient transfer in Pakistan.
The first patient transported by the new air ambulance service is Halima Bibi, a 40-year-old woman from Mianwali. After suffering paralysis from a fall, she was initially treated at Mianwali’s District Headquarters Hospital before being referred to Rawalpindi for advanced care.
Under the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Halima Bibi was transported from Mianwali to Rawalpindi within the crucial “golden hour” using the new air ambulance service. Her family praised Maryam Nawaz for facilitating the swift transfer, calling her an “angel.”

The Chief Minister stated that every citizen has the right to timely and quality medical care, which will be upheld.
In her inaugural address to the Punjab Assembly, the first female Chief Minister of the province, Maryam Nawaz, had announced the launch of the air ambulance service. This initiative was approved by the Punjab cabinet in March, representing a major advancement in emergency medical services for the region.
The initiative involves leasing two aircraft for the air ambulance service, which will be equipped to transport doctors, paramedics, medical equipment, and life-saving medicines. These aircraft are designed to operate from short runways and can also land and take off from national highways and motorways.
