After the Supreme Court’s verdict allowing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to regain reserved seats, PTI is set to become the largest party in parliament.
According to a report, PTI’s National Assembly members may reach 92, including 84 from the Sunni Alliance and eight independents. With the addition of the 22 reserved seats they lost, PTI’s total could increase to 114 members.
Currently, the National Assembly includes 108 members from PML-N, 68 from PPP, 21 from MQM, eight from JUI-F, five from PML-Q, and four from IPP.
The Supreme Court’s decision means PML-N, PPP, MQM, and JUI have lost 77 seats reserved for women and minorities. These seats were suspended by the election commission on May 13 and included 22 National Assembly seats and 55 provincial assembly seats.

In the National Assembly, the suspended seats comprise 11 for women from Punjab, eight from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and three for minorities. Of these, 14 were allocated to PML-N, five to PPP, and three to JUI.
In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, 21 reserved seats for women and four for minorities were suspended. JUI-F had 10, PML-N had seven, PPP had seven, and ANP had one.
In the Punjab Assembly, 24 seats for women and three for minorities were suspended, with PML-N holding 23, PPP two, and PML-Q and IPP one each.
In the Sindh Assembly, two women’s seats and one minority seat were suspended, with PPP having two and MQM one.
