The Pakistani auto market is gearing up for the launch of what could be a game-changing electric SUV. Capital Smart Motors is set to introduce the Forthing Friday REEV, a Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) that boasts an impressive total range of 1,150 kilometers.
The vehicle features an electric-only range of approximately 600 kilometers, while an additional 550 kilometers is made possible through a built-in range extender—a small internal combustion engine that acts as a generator to recharge the battery once it runs low.

This system helps overcome range anxiety commonly associated with standard EVs by reducing dependence on external charging.

Forthing is a Chinese automotive brand under Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, a subsidiary of the Dongfeng Motor Group. Known for producing affordable and efficient passenger vehicles, Forthing’s entry into Pakistan could reshape the local EV landscape.
The official launch of the Forthing Friday REEV in Pakistan is expected in mid-August, with bookings to begin around the same time. Pricing details have not yet been disclosed and are likely to be revealed at the time of booking.
