Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered the expansion of the Faizabad Interchange and called for a comprehensive traffic management plan to support the project. The directive came during his visit to the interchange on Saturday, where he reviewed traffic conditions and assessed the ongoing infrastructure situation.
Highlighting the strategic importance of Faizabad as a main link between Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Naqvi said the interchange should reflect the identity and standard of the federal capital. He stressed that anyone entering Islamabad through this key point should immediately feel the difference in terms of environment and aesthetics.

He instructed authorities to use all available resources to uplift the overall look of the interchange and ensure the smooth flow of traffic. Naqvi also ordered the installation of decorative lighting to enhance the visual appeal of the area, making it more welcoming for commuters.
The interior minister’s visit is part of a broader initiative to improve the entry points of Islamabad and ease congestion, especially during peak hours. He said the upgrade of Faizabad Interchange must be carried out with attention to both functionality and appearance.
Naqvi’s emphasis on aesthetics and traffic flow signals a renewed focus on urban beautification alongside infrastructure development in the capital.
