Summer Vacation Schedules Announced Amid Heatwave; Public Criticism Grows Over Sindh Conditions

A notification issued by the Sindh Education Department confirmed that summer holidays will be observed across all educational institutions during this period.

A day earlier, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government announced the summer vacation schedule for both government and private schools across the province.

According to a notification issued by the K-P Department of Education, summer holidays for schools in the summer zone (plains areas) will be observed from June 1 to August 31 for primary schools.

For middle, high, and higher secondary schools, the summer break will begin on June 15 and continue until August 31.

The notification further stated that in the winter zone, schools will observe summer holidays from July 1 to July 31.

This schedule applies uniformly to both government and private educational institutions operating in the respective zones of K-P.

Similarly, the Punjab government had announced that summer vacations in all schools across the province would begin on May 28.

According to a statement by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, the decision was made because of the ongoing severe heatwave.

Mariam commented three hours ago, expressing concern over the conditions in Sindh: “It s really hot days in sindh but the vacations are only for 2 months what the hell is this Government officials are making decisions while sitting in AC wala room …but in sindh mostly government schools are without electricity and solar just imagine in this situation how students are surviving.”
