PMD Predicts Rain in Several Parts of Punjab Next Week

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall across Punjab, including Lahore, from February 19 as a new weather system moves into the region on February 18.

Lahore, currently experiencing dry and cool conditions, is expected to receive showers midweek. The city’s minimum temperature today was recorded at 10°C, with a high of 24°C.

Meanwhile, Karachi has seen an increase in temperatures, with the city reaching 33.2°C yesterday. Weather experts have also warned of foggy conditions over the weekend, which could impact visibility and traffic.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, several districts have already witnessed rain and snowfall, with Kalam receiving the highest snowfall at 17 inches. Other areas, including Chitral, Swat, and Dir, have also reported snowfall, bringing temperatures below freezing in some places.

Murree is expected to be one of the coldest locations, with nighttime temperatures dropping to -2°C. Cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan will see minimum temperatures ranging from 8°C to 11°C.

In southern Punjab, Bahawalpur will have the highest humidity at 94%, with similar temperature ranges in Dera Ghazi Khan and Multan.

Authorities have advised residents in affected areas to prepare for the changing weather conditions in the coming days.
