The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 is set to make its long-awaited return, marking the first edition of the tournament since 2017. With a total prize pool of $6.9 million, the upcoming competition promises high stakes for the eight participating teams.
The tournament champions will secure $2.24 million, while the runners-up will take home $1.12 million. The teams that reach the semi-finals but fail to progress further will still earn $560,000 each.

Even group-stage matches carry financial rewards, with $34,000 awarded for every victory. Meanwhile, the fifth and sixth-placed teams will receive $350,000, and those finishing seventh or eighth will collect $140,000.
Each competing team is guaranteed $125,000 simply for participation.
Pakistan is set to host a major global cricket tournament for the first time since 1996, with matches scheduled in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. The format includes two groups of four teams, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
Looking ahead, the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy will be held every four years, while a Women’s Champions Trophy is set to debut in 2027 in the T20 format.
ICC Chair Jay Shah highlighted the event’s significance, calling it a major milestone for ODI cricket and emphasizing the ICC’s dedication to enhancing the sport’s global appeal.
