On June 29th, 2024, the Excise and Taxation Department of Sindh auctioned 40 premium number plates, generating 67.54 crore PKR for the Sindh government. The auction was held at a local hotel and attended by various dignitaries.
Senior Minister of Excise, Taxation, and Information Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon, expressed gratitude to the participants, emphasizing the noble cause behind the auction. The highlight of the event was the sale of the number plate “A1” for 10 crore rupees, purchased by businessman Muzamal Kareem. Memon presented the ownership certificate to Kareem.
The second highest bid was for the number plate “A786,” which sold for 2.65 crore PKR. Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Shah handed over the certificate to the winning bidder.
Among the other notable sales, the number plate “A5” fetched 53 million PKR, while “A7” was auctioned for 46 million PKR. The number plates “A9” and “A2” were sold for 40 million PKR and 37 million PKR, respectively. Additionally, “A3” went for 36 million PKR, and “A4” for 32 million PKR.

The number plates “A6” and “A666” were sold for 22 million PKR and 21 million PKR, respectively. The number plate “A11” fetched 16 million PKR, while “A10” was auctioned for 14 million PKR. The number plate “A777” was sold for 13.5 million PKR, and both “A-0007” and “A111” went for 11 million PKR each.
The plates “A-0001” and “A20” were sold for 10.5 million PKR each. The number plates “A444,” “A110,” and “A18” each fetched 9 million PKR. The number plates “A555” and “A999” were sold for 8.5 million PKR each, while “A14” and “A888” fetched 8.2 million PKR and 8.1 million PKR, respectively.
Other sales included “A15” for 7.9 million PKR, “A17” for 7.5 million PKR, “A12” and “A19” each for 7 million PKR, “A333” for 6.7 million PKR, and “A222” for 6.5 million PKR. The number plate “A13” went for 6.2 million PKR, and “A-0009” was sold for 5.7 million PKR.
The number plates “A16” fetched 4.2 million PKR, “A-0002” was auctioned for 3.2 million PKR, “A-0005” for 2.9 million PKR, “A-0008” for 2.5 million PKR, “A-0004” and “A-0006” for 2.3 million PKR each, and “A-0003” for 2.1 million PKR.
