After concluding his seven-year self-exile, Babar Ghauri, a former federal minister and prominent member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), was detained on arrival at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on Monday, July 4th 2022.
Ghauri may be seen being hauled into jail by the Karachi police in a video that has been circulated on social media.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had arrested Ghauri in 2017 in connection with a case involving money laundering and terrorism financing.
