The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a warning for a cold wave that is expected to impact much of the country until December 14. A westerly wave affecting the northeastern regions is predicted to shift northeast within the next 12 to 18 hours.
The weather will largely remain dry, with cold conditions sweeping across most of Pakistan in the coming 24 hours. However, some areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and nearby hilly regions may experience light rain, thunderstorms, and light snowfall.
Frost is anticipated in the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Punjab during the early mornings, while foggy conditions are expected in parts of southern Punjab and upper Sindh during the night and morning hours.

In the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed across much of the country, with hilly regions experiencing very low temperatures. Rainfall was recorded in Pattan (8mm), Sargodha, and Okara (2mm), and Dera Ismail Khan (1mm).
The coldest temperatures were seen in Leh, Skardu, and Kalat at -7°C, followed by Gupis at -6°C, and Gilgit, Kalam, and Astore at -4°C. The PMD has advised the public to take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to frost and fog, to mitigate potential risks.
