ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has increased the prices of re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) by up to 34.6 percent for July 2026, raising energy costs for consumers.
According to an Ogra notification, the increase follows the arrival of only five LNG cargoes during July, making it one of the lowest monthly import volumes since Pakistan began importing LNG.

Consumers of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) will pay $25.087 per MMBtu, up $6.4512, representing a 34.6 percent increase.
Meanwhile, customers of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) will pay $25.8388 per MMBtu, an increase of $6.316, or 32.35 percent.
The report said RLNG prices have risen by more than 144 percent since the conflict in the Middle East disrupted regional energy supplies. Pakistan LNG Limited imported all five July cargoes from the international spot market, where prices remain higher and more volatile than long-term contract rates.
In contrast, Pakistan State Oil (PSO) did not import any LNG cargoes under its long-term contracts with Qatar during the month, contributing to the higher overall cost of imported gas.
The report added that QatarEnergy suspended shipments under force majeure after drone strikes targeted energy infrastructure in Qatar, forcing Pakistan to rely more heavily on expensive spot market purchases.
Unless LNG supplies from Qatar resume, Pakistan is likely to continue importing higher-priced spot cargoes, keeping RLNG prices elevated for consumers.
