Prime Minister’s Advisor Rana Sanaullah has recently highlighted the unexpected resilience of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan during his incarceration.
Sanaullah’s remarks came in response to rumors suggesting Khan is receiving special privileges in jail, such as preferred food and other amenities. He clarified that while these rumors persist, the key takeaway is that Khan has shown a level of endurance in prison that was not anticipated.
Sanaullah also addressed questions regarding allegations of drug use by Khan. He stated that drug use is a separate issue and that coping with the challenges of imprisonment requires a different kind of strength.

Despite initial doubts about Khan’s ability to handle his time behind bars, Sanaullah admitted that Khan has handled his situation more effectively than expected.
Adding to the controversy, Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader Hanif Abbasi claimed in a National Assembly session that a search of Khan’s cell could potentially uncover drugs, including cocaine and heroin. Abbasi further alleged that the administration at Adiala Jail was changed due to confirmed reports of drug distribution within the facility.
