The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested two individuals for allegedly uploading fake images and videos of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on social media.
The FIA stated that Ahmed Hassan and Murtaza Khan were arrested for spreading false visual content involving the Chief Minister. The arrests were made after a citizen from Mozang, Lahore, filed a formal complaint.
The FIA revealed that the suspects were engaged in distributing provocative and false content intended to stir public unrest.
The case is being handled by the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing, which is investigating the illegal activities that sought to manipulate public perception through misleading online material.

Furthermore, over 20 users on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) are implicated for uploading and sharing the videos. The FIR also includes around 10 accounts from Facebook and TikTok for their involvement in spreading the fabricated content.
