Rain, Thunderstorms Likely in Parts of Pakistan During Ramadan

The National Emergencies Operation Centre of the National Disaster Management Authority has issued a weather outlook for the month of Ramadan, forecasting generally pleasant conditions across Pakistan.

According to the NDMA, temperatures are expected to rise gradually during the day, while nights will remain comparatively cool throughout most of the month.

In the first Ashra of Ramadan, dry weather is likely to prevail in most parts of the country. However, light rain is expected in northern and western regions. Nighttime temperatures will remain cold in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and northern Balochistan.

During the second Ashra, temperatures are expected to increase slightly. Scattered rain may occur in northern areas, central Punjab and the Pothohar region. Authorities have also forecast windstorms and thunderstorms in some locations.

In the third Ashra, rainfall is likely in different parts of the country, with intermittent spells expected in northern Pakistan and central Punjab.

By the end of Ramadan, southern Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan are likely to experience a noticeable rise in temperatures.

The NDMA stated that its National Emergencies Operation Centre is issuing timely early warnings to the public and relevant institutions regarding expected weather conditions and potential hazards.

Separately, the Pakistan Meteorological Department reported light to moderate rain and hailstorms in several areas of Karachi on Tuesday. Following the rainfall, the weather in the city turned pleasant.

Rain was recorded in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, North Nazimabad, Federal B Area, University Road, Orangi Town, SITE Area and Buffer Zone. Scheme 33 and nearby areas also experienced hail during the showers.
