The Sindh government has made pre-license driving training mandatory for all applicants seeking a driving license in the province.

The decision was taken during the 50th meeting of the Public Private Partnership Policy Board chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. The board approved the establishment of driver training schools for both Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTV) and Light Transport Vehicles (LTV) across Sindh.

Under the new policy, authorities will not issue a driving license to any applicant who has not completed the prescribed training. Officials said the move aims to standardize driver education before granting licenses.

The government has set a target to train and issue licenses to 100,000 drivers over the next five years.

During the meeting, the board also approved several projects related to education, transport, tourism, environmental protection and forest conservation.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah directed authorities to accelerate work on the Marble City Karachi project and said delays in its implementation would not be tolerated.

Officials stated that the driver training initiative will be implemented across Sindh under the approved framework.
