Pakistan pre-monsoon rain forecast 2025

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast pre-monsoon rains across various regions of the country from June 20 to 23, with occasional gaps, bringing much-needed relief from the ongoing heat wave.

The PMD stated that the anticipated wet spell will include dust storms, rain-wind, and thundershowers, while some isolated areas may also experience heavy rainfall and hailstorms. These weather developments are expected to ease the persistent high temperatures affecting many parts of the country.

According to the Met Office, moist currents from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea are currently entering the upper and central regions of Pakistan. A westerly wave is also likely to approach the upper parts of the country on June 20, contributing to the development of unstable weather conditions during this period.

The PMD has advised authorities to remain alert during the forecast period, particularly in areas vulnerable to urban flooding and landslides. Travelers and farmers have also been urged to stay updated with weather reports and take necessary precautions, as the changing weather conditions may impact transportation, agriculture, and daily activities in affected regions.
