The monthly salary and perks for Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) have now been made public. The basic monthly salary for an MNA is Rs 150,000, plus additional allowances of Rs 38,000, bringing the total to Rs 188,000 per month.
According to the documents, a Standing Committee chairman receives an additional Rs 25,000, bringing their total to Rs 213,000. Furthermore, members earn Rs 8,800 for each National Assembly or Standing Committee session they attend.
The documents further revealed that MNAs receive Rs 150 per kilometer for air travel and Rs 25 per kilometer for road travel. They also get annual travel vouchers worth Rs 300,000, Rs 90,000 in cash, and 30 business class open tickets.

In a separate news, the Punjab Assembly has approved the purchase of luxury vehicles totaling Rs. 180 million. This includes a Toyota Land Cruiser for the Speaker at Rs. 100 million and a Toyota Fortuner for the Deputy Speaker at Rs. 22.5 million.
The decision was made by an eleven-member finance committee led by the Speaker. The committee also approved a Toyota Fortuner for the Assembly Secretary and two Hilux Vigo trucks for the Speaker’s security, with a combined cost of Rs. 30 million.
