Earlier, the Climate Data Processing Centre had forecasted the sighting of the Zilhaj moon on Friday, June 7, leading to the celebration of Eid ul Adha on Monday, June 17.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz had stated that the new moon signaling the beginning of the Islamic month of Zilhaj will appear at 5:38 pm local time on June 6, coinciding with the sunset at 7:20 pm.

Meanwhile, Pakistanis are expected to enjoy up to five holidays during the Eid. As most of government offices and some educational institutes have Saturday as an off-day, the holidays will commence from June 15.
