Sindh Resumes Online Issuance of Driving License

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Driving License Branch announced plans to reactivate online license issuance starting next week.

During a meeting chaired by Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon, discussions were held to streamline the process of obtaining a driving license online. 

Officials, including those from the DIG Driving License Branch Sindh, decided to resume the online issuance of learning and international driving licenses starting next week. Authorities also agreed to enhance citizen convenience by allowing online renewal of driving licenses.

In addition to the renewal process, the online platform will incorporate payment options, bank details, and submission of medical fitness certificates. 

Suggestions for medical examinations, including eye tests, for renewing driver’s licenses were also discussed, particularly for Pakistani citizens residing overseas.

During the meeting, the IGP stated that the online driving license system will be introduced on a trial basis. He also expressed the possibility of introducing a mobile van service in the future to further enhance the convenience for citizens.

Ghulam Nabi Memon stressed the importance of the online driving license system for providing citizens with convenient services. He also stated the driving license data will be digitized with the use of modern technology.
