On March 23, Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan’s men’s cricket team and the PSL Season 8’s highest run scorer, will receive the Sitara-e-Imtiaz, the third-largest civilian award in the nation.
The youngest player to receive the prized honor will be Babar Azam. Babar Azam, who is only 28 years old, has scored 519 runs in the most recent PSL season and is Pakistan’s highest run scorer overall.
The previous record holder for receiving the prestigious accolade at a young age was former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed.
At the Governor House in Karachi in 2018, then-Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair presented the honor to Sarfaraz, who had led Pakistan to the Champions Trophy victory in 2017.
The administration said on August 14 of last year that Babar would get the nation’s third-highest civilian honor.

Babar Azam is not the only cricketer to get the Sitara-e-Imtiaz; other recipients of the honor include former captains Misbah ul Haq, Shahid Afridi, and Younis Khan.
Inzamam ul Haq won it in 2005, Mohammad Yousuf in 2011, Saeed Ajmal in 2015, and Javed Miandad in 1992.
