In Lahore, a Norwegian company intends to produce electricity from garbage. The business intends to invest $300 million in the project.
The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC), whose chairman is Atif Chaudhry, reportedly held a significant meeting on the waste-to-energy project.
The meeting was also attended by Shahid Latif, the deputy secretary of development, and Ali Anan Qamar, the CEO of LWMC.
A team from a Norwegian business organisation has reportedly come in Pakistan with the aim of conducting an initial investigation, according to Atif Chaudhry. The waste-to-energy project will receive $300 million in funding from the corporation.
According to Atif, the initiative will generate 2000 new jobs.
