Electric vehicle (EV) owners traveling on Pakistan’s motorway network can now access ultrafast charging facilities at five motorway service areas following the launch of a new EV charging network aimed at supporting long distance electric mobility.

According to the announcement, ultrafast charging stations have become operational at Chakri (North), Kallar Kahar (South), Bhera (North), Bhera (South), and Sial Mor (North) motorway service areas.

Each location is equipped with a 360 kVA ultrafast charger capable of charging up to four electric vehicles simultaneously. The operator said most compatible EVs can be charged in 15 to 20 minutes, significantly reducing charging times for motorists traveling between cities.

The project is expected to make long distance EV travel more convenient by allowing drivers to recharge quickly during motorway journeys without lengthy stops.

The new charging network also represents another step toward strengthening Pakistan’s EV infrastructure and encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles by addressing one of the biggest challenges for EV owners: access to reliable, high speed charging facilities on major highways.

With the addition of the five motorway charging locations, EV users traveling on the route will have greater confidence in undertaking intercity trips while benefiting from faster charging and improved convenience.
