The Indian team has welcomed back former Indian captain Virat Kohli ahead of the forthcoming T20 Asia Cup, which will take place in the United Arab Emirates from August 27 to September 11 in UAE.
Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel were informed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that they will not be participating in the T20 Asia Cup squad due to injury.
In the meantime, Kohli, who was dropped from the West Indies trip due to his subpar performance, returned to the side for the Asian competition.
KL Rahul, who bats first, has also been called up and appointed vice-captain.
India will open their account in T20 Asia Cup against Pakistan on August 28 in Dubai, with Virat Kohli making come back for the tournament.
