The International Cricket Council (ICC) has recommended financial penalties following recent disciplinary hearings over incidents in India–Pakistan matches during the ongoing Asia Cup.
According to the ICC’s match referee Richie Richardson, both Pakistan’s Haris Rauf and India’s Suryakumar Yadav have been recommended 30% fines of their match fees for their on-field behavior. Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan, however, was let off with only a warning for his celebrations after scoring a half-century last week.

All three players — Haris Rauf, Sahibzada Farhan, and Suryakumar Yadav — pleaded not guilty. Both cricket boards are expected to appeal the recommendations. The ICC said its match referees heard both sides over Thursday and Friday, with team managers from both countries present during the hearings.
Earlier in the tournament, tensions had risen after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) raised concerns about comments made during the toss and post-match remarks by the Indian captain. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), in turn, called for action against Pakistani players.
Following the hearings, the ICC determined that Rauf’s celebrations and Farhan’s half-century gesture required disciplinary review, while Yadav was penalized for his actions during the first encounter on September 14.
The final ICC statement on the matter is still pending, while both teams prepare to meet again in the Asia Cup final on Sunday.
