The meeting was told that normal passports, previously issued within 21 days, will now be delivered within 14 days. The interior minister also directed officials to finalize the framework for issuing business passports at the earliest.

He said a fully cashless system will be introduced at passport offices within 15 days to improve transparency and eliminate the role of agents. The meeting also decided to further strengthen the system for home delivery of passports to ensure faster and more efficient service.

Mohsin Naqvi said ending cash payments will help curb the influence of agents and make the process more accessible for the public. He also emphasized the need to establish a dedicated passport authority to further improve the system and public service delivery.

The meeting was attended by the federal secretary interior, the director general of passports and immigration, and other relevant officials.
