Under the revised limits, the maximum speed for motorcars and light transport vehicles (LTV) on motorways has been set at 100 kilometers per hour, while on highways the limit for these vehicles will be 80 kilometers per hour.

For public service vehicles (PSV) and heavy transport vehicles (HTV), the speed limit on motorways has been fixed at 90 kilometers per hour. On highways, the maximum speed for these vehicles will be 65 kilometers per hour.

Authorities said the revised limits are intended to promote more efficient fuel use while also contributing to safer driving conditions on the country’s road network.

The changes have been implemented in line with the federal government’s ongoing measures to conserve fuel and manage energy resources. Motorway Police have urged drivers to strictly follow the updated speed limits during travel on motorways and highways.
