For those using government-subsidized flour, the amount will be Rs. 200 per person. Dr Naeemi said Sadaqatul-Fitr is obligatory for every Muslim, regardless of age or gender.

He advised people with sufficient financial means to pay according to their capacity rather than limiting themselves to the minimum wheat-based amount so that greater support can reach deserving individuals. He also said residents of provinces other than Punjab should calculate Sadaqatul-Fitr and Fidyah according to local market prices in their respective areas.

Providing further details, he said the Fidyah for 30 fasts has been fixed at Rs. 9,000 on wheat, Rs. 33,000 on barley, Rs. 48,000 on dates, Rs. 114,000 on raisins, and Rs. 162,000 on munqa. Based on government-subsidized flour, the Fidyah for 30 fasts will be Rs. 6,000.

He added that the Kaffarah for deliberately breaking a fast requires either observing 60 consecutive fasts or feeding 60 needy people two meals each.
