NexGen Auto is preparing to introduce the Jaecoo J5 HEV in Pakistan later this month, expanding its lineup only weeks after launching the Jaecoo J7 PHEV. The company will assemble the upcoming hybrid crossover locally, positioning it as a direct competitor to the Haval Jolion HEV and Toyota Corolla Cross HEV. Officials say a petrol variant may follow sometime next year.
The Jaecoo J5 is expected to feature a 1.5 liter turbo hybrid powertrain that delivers 156 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. It is likely to be offered in two variants, both built on a 4380 mm by 1860 mm by 1650 mm frame with a 2620 mm wheelbase.

The model is expected to come with R18 alloy wheels and a modern interior equipped with an 8.8 inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.2 inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Convenience features such as a wireless charger, panoramic moonroof, leather seats, powered tailgate, dual zone climate control, and electrically adjustable front seats are also anticipated.
Safety features may include six airbags, an ADAS suite, tyre pressure monitoring system, and a 540 degree surround view camera. An eight speaker Sony sound system is also expected.
Market analysts believe the Jaecoo J5 HEV will be priced competitively to attract buyers in the growing hybrid crossover segment. Based on current pricing trends and its positioning against rivals, the expected price range is Rs. 75 lakh to Rs. 85 lakh, depending on the variant.
NexGen Auto is expected to announce official pricing and booking details at the launch event later this month.
