A new mosque dedicated to women worshippers will be inaugurated in Sargodha on Thursday, offering a convenient place for women to pray while shopping in nearby markets.
The mosque has been built within the Municipal Corporation premises with funding from Anjuman-i-Shehryan and local traders. The project aims to provide a safe and comfortable environment for women who often face challenges finding suitable prayer spaces in busy commercial areas.

According to Anjuman President Mian Muhammad Sarwar and General Secretary Sheikh Hassan Zafar, the initiative will make it easier for women to perform their prayers without having to leave the marketplace. They said the mosque would remain neutral and unaffiliated with any particular sect or school of thought, welcoming worshippers from all backgrounds.
Local residents and shopkeepers have praised the move, calling it a positive step toward supporting women’s participation in public spaces while maintaining religious values. The facility is expected to be managed jointly by representatives of the Anjuman and the Municipal Corporation to ensure maintenance and accessibility.
The opening of this women’s mosque in Sargodha highlights growing community efforts to create inclusive religious spaces that cater to the needs of women in urban centers across Pakistan.
