During the inaugural trip, visitors toured the shrine of renowned Punjabi poet Waris Shah and the historic Hiran Minar complex. Tourists enjoyed activities such as boating and cycling at Hiran Minar, while a live Heer recitation was arranged to celebrate the region’s literary legacy.

Local residents and traders hailed the initiative as a major step toward reviving Sheikhupura’s heritage and attracting more visitors from across Punjab. Organizers said the service has already drawn strong interest from families and weekend travelers looking for short cultural getaways.

Deputy Commissioner Shahid Imran Marth said the administration plans to transform Sheikhupura into a regional tourism hub. Additional Secretary Tourism Sadaf Zafar added that the program aims to support local businesses and preserve the district’s historical landmarks through sustainable tourism efforts.
