United Launches New 125cc Model with Only Sticker Changes

0

United Motorcycles has unveiled its latest 125cc model in Pakistan, touting it as a fresh blend of performance, durability, and style. However, the much-hyped launch appears to follow the familiar trend of “sticker updates” rather than introducing any real innovation — a practice common among local motorcycle manufacturers.

The new United 125cc features a 4-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine with a 9.0:1 compression ratio and a 4-speed transmission. It comes with alloy rims, a wet-type multi-plate clutch, and a backbone frame. The bike’s fuel tank capacity is 9 liters, with a ground clearance of 140mm and a dry weight of 94.5 kg. The front and rear tyres measure 2.50-18 and 3.00-17, respectively.

While the specifications remain largely unchanged from last year’s model, United has introduced minor aesthetic revisions and a new sticker design. The base variant is priced at Rs166,500, while the self-start version with alloy rims costs Rs238,000.

Critics say the company has once again opted for superficial updates instead of offering genuine mechanical or design improvements. Many consumers feel that such marketing-driven launches, focusing on color and graphics, fail to justify the growing price tags in Pakistan’s motorcycle market.
