Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has unveiled a major public transport plan for Murree, announcing a Green Line bus service and a dedicated train to facilitate tourists and residents.

Speaking at a public gathering, the chief minister said that 15 new buses have already been ordered, which will operate under the Green Line scheme. Students, women, and senior citizens will be able to travel on the service free of charge.

She added that a train will also run directly to Murree, aiming to discourage tourists from bringing private vehicles and reduce traffic congestion in the hill station.

“This initiative will not only provide relief to the people but also protect Murree’s environment by reducing vehicle pressure,” she noted.

Maryam Nawaz also highlighted other development works in the region. She inaugurated the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre, where angiographies have already started, with cardiac surgeries expected soon.

Plans for a new hospital in Bhurban, upgraded schools, improved sanitation, and a large-scale water supply project were also announced.

The CM said Murree has been given its own district administration and a tourism police force, reflecting the government’s commitment to make the city a leading tourist hub.
