Maryam Nawaz also announced that every district of south Punjab, including Rajanpur, Layyah, Muzaffargarh and Taunsa, will receive electric buses, and pledged a Metro Bus Service for DG Khan. She added that billions would be invested in the region, with monthly South Punjab Secretariat meetings in Bahawalpur, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, and DG Khan to address local issues.
The Chief Minister stressed that Punjab would not seek foreign aid for flood relief, promising compensation from provincial resources for families affected by recent floods.
Citizens warmly welcomed the service, showering flowers on the buses and carrying banners praising the Chief Minister. Maryam Nawaz concluded by urging people to protect the new system: “These buses belong to you. Keep them clean and safe.”
