Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) announced that it will introduce Pakistan’s first locally assembled range-extended hybrid electric vehicle (REEV), the Deepal S05, in November. The premium C-segment SUV is expected to deliver a driving range of more than 1,000 kilometers, combining pure electric drive with an on-board generator that recharges the battery.
Industry observers note that the launch comes at a time when electric vehicle adoption in Pakistan remains limited due to concerns over charging infrastructure and range. MCML says the S05 is designed to address these challenges, offering longer distances between charges while retaining the benefits of electric driving.

Built on a dedicated EV platform, the S05 features a wide body and long wheelbase, making it one of the more spacious options in its class. Internationally, the model has already been introduced under the Deepal brand and has received recognition for its design, including the iF Design Award.
In recent years, MCML has emerged as Pakistan’s third-largest automotive brand, with more than 65,000 vehicles on the road. The company previously introduced the Deepal S07 SUV and L07 sedan under its electric-first lineup.
Road testing of the S05 is currently underway nationwide, with the official launch expected to attract significant attention from both consumers and the auto industry.
