The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has rescheduled the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025 due to the ongoing flood situation in parts of the country.

The exam, originally set for October 5, will now take place on October 26, 2025 (Sunday).

According to the PMDC, the decision was made in consultation with universities from all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, following directives from Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal. The council said the move was aimed at ensuring fairness and providing equal opportunities for all candidates.

Health Minister Mustafa Kamal described the decision as being in the “larger interest of students” and reiterated the government’s commitment to making higher education accessible across Pakistan.

Earlier, PMDC had issued the revised curriculum for MDCAT 2025. PMDC President Dr. Rizwan Taj said the test will consist of five subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning.

The exam will comprise 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with a three-hour duration. No negative marking will be applied, and the questions will be distributed as 15 percent easy, 70 percent moderate, and 15 percent difficult.

For eligibility, candidates must secure at least 55 percent marks for admission in medical colleges and 50 percent for dental colleges, Dr. Taj added.
