The federal government has introduced the New Energy Vehicle Policy 2025–30 under the Pakistan Accelerated Vehicle Electrification (PAVE) program, offering citizens the chance to buy electric bikes, rickshaws, and small trucks at subsidized rates and through installment plans.
What the Policy Offers
In the first phase of the program (FY 2025–26), the government will provide:40,000 electric motorcycles1,000 electric rickshaws1,000 small electric trucksThese vehicles will be available under subsidy and easy installment schemes to make them affordable for ordinary citizens.

How to Apply
Applicants can submit their requests online at the official portal www.pave.gov.pk.The deadline for applications is September 30, 2025.A computerized balloting system will be used to ensure transparency in selecting successful applicants.
Special Quota for Women and Overseas Pakistanis
To ensure inclusivity, the policy sets aside a special quota for women and overseas Pakistanis, encouraging their participation in the electric mobility program.
Savings for Consumers
Daily running cost of an electric rickshaw: Rs 80, compared to Rs 1,200 for petrol or CNG. Daily running cost of an electric bike: Rs 5, compared to Rs 300 for petrol motorcycles. Each consumer could save up to Rs 88,000 annually.
The initiative, led by the Ministry of Industries and Production and the Engineering Development Board, is aimed at reducing fuel expenses, cutting pollution, and lowering reliance on imported fuel.
