The Karachi Traffic Police is gearing up to introduce a new digital system that will monitor traffic violations through high-definition cameras instead of relying solely on traffic officers.
Called the Faceless Traffic Regulation and Citation System (TRACS), the initiative is expected to be rolled out soon. The system will use surveillance cameras to automatically detect violations such as signal jumping, lane violations, and wrong turns.

Once a violation is recorded, an electronic ticket—along with photographic evidence—will be generated and sent to the vehicle owner’s registered home address. Officials say the aim is to bring more transparency to traffic enforcement, reduce chances of on-the-spot arguments, and discourage bribery.
With the slogan “No more arguments—every challan will come with proof,” the campaign highlights the system’s focus on accountability. To encourage timely payments, violators will get a 50 percent discount if they pay within 14 days.
However, fines will double after 21 days. Non-payment for three months may result in the suspension of the driver’s license, while further delays could lead to the blocking of their CNIC after six months.
The TRACS system marks a major shift in how traffic rules are enforced in Karachi and is seen as part of broader efforts to modernize public services and improve compliance.
