Pakistan’s auto industry just entered a new era with the launch of the BYD Shark 6 PHEV, the country’s first-ever plug-in hybrid pickup truck. This bold move by BYD marks a major shift from traditional SUVs, introducing a new kind of pickup that blends power, luxury, and sustainability.
The Shark 6 PHEV is powered by a 1.5T high-power hybrid engine, paired with BYD’s signature Blade Battery and dual permanent magnet synchronous motors—one on each axle. It produces a combined output of 321 kW and 650 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds.

The pickup offers a combined range of 800 km, including 100 km of electric-only driving.
In terms of features, the Shark is loaded. It boasts a 25-inch digital display, wireless Apple CarPlay, ventilated and heated front seats, 12 Dynaudio speakers, and a 50W wireless charger. Safety is also top-tier with 360° cameras, multiple airbags, Driver Fatigue Monitor, and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB).
The price is set at Rs. 19.95 million, with bookings open at Rs. 3.95 million.
With the Shark 6 PHEV, BYD has signaled a clear challenge to the dominance of the Toyota Hilux, redefining what a pickup truck can offer in Pakistan.
