Security officials revealed that terrorist groups have previously used drones in attacks in North Waziristan and other southern districts of the province. Additionally, drones have also been employed by India during periods of heightened tension with Pakistan.

Inspector General of KP Police, Zulfiqar Hameed, told Geo News that the force is working to further modernize its capabilities. “We are actively pursuing more advanced technologies and equipping our personnel with modern weapons and gear,” he said.

The anti-drone system will also be utilized during the upcoming Muharram processions to enhance crowd safety and prevent any drone-related threats during religious gatherings.

The introduction of this system marks a significant step forward in law enforcement’s ability to respond to evolving security challenges in the region.
