The management of Lahore Zoo has drastically increased ticket prices, leaving visitors shocked.
The entry ticket, previously priced at Rs. 80, has now been raised to Rs. 300. The sudden hike has caused frustration among citizens, especially those who had planned to visit the zoo during Eid holidays.
Many families, upon seeing the new ticket rates, decided to return home instead of entering. Additionally, visitors have complained about a sharp rise in food and beverage prices inside the zoo.

The increased charges have sparked criticism, with many questioning the affordability of family outings to the zoo, which has long been a popular recreational spot in Lahore.
Meanwhile, Punjab Wildlife authorities had temporarily closed Lahore Safari Zoo for 15 days starting March 11 to carry out essential construction, repairs, and maintenance work.
A Punjab Wildlife and Parks spokesperson stated that the improvement work would be completed within the given timeframe to ensure the zoo reopens before Eid. Apart from renovations, a thorough medical examination of all animals is being conducted to ensure their well-being.
During the closure, authorities are focusing on enhancing facilities for both animals and visitors. Officials emphasized that regular upgrades are essential to maintaining a safe and engaging environment at the zoo.
