The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast another spell of rain in various parts of Punjab, Islamabad, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) next week.
The approaching weather system is expected to bring multiple rounds of rainfall, along with strong winds, hailstorms, and snowfall in some regions.

According to the PMD, the system is likely to enter Pakistan on March 10 and persist until March 21, with at least two to three spells of rain during this period. Lahore is expected to receive showers from March 9 to March 11.
Officials have cautioned that these post-winter spring rains, brought by Western Disturbances (WD), tend to be more intense and may lead to damage in certain areas due to high-speed winds and hailstorms.
The PMD has advised citizens to remain cautious, especially in regions prone to heavy rainfall, as the weather conditions could disrupt daily activities. Authorities have also been alerted to take necessary measures to handle any emergencies that may arise due to the expected storms.
Karachi to Experience Rising Temperatures
While northern parts of the country prepare for rain, Karachi will see a significant increase in temperature over the coming days. The Meteorological Department has predicted that temperatures in the city could reach 38°C over the weekend.
Despite the rise in heat, weather experts have ruled out the possibility of a heatwave. The PMD explained that heatwaves typically occur when sea breezes weaken for an extended period, humidity levels remain high, and temperatures surpass 40°C. However, the current weather pattern does not indicate such conditions.
Humidity levels in Karachi are expected to remain between 15% and 25%, meaning that while it may feel hot, extreme conditions are unlikely.
