Revised Speed Limits for Safer Roads
According to the Motorway Police, the speed limit for cars on three-lane motorways remains 120 km/h, while public transport vehicles must not exceed 110 km/h. However, any vehicle exceeding 150 km/h will now be confiscated, in addition to fines and FIR registration.
Enhanced Monitoring and Awareness
Authorities have intensified patrols and installed advanced surveillance systems to enforce speed limits. The Motorway Police have also launched awareness campaigns to educate drivers about the risks of overspeeding and the importance of following traffic regulations.
Efforts to Prevent Accidents
Frequent accidents on highways are often linked to high speeds. Despite ongoing awareness drives, many drivers continue to violate speed limits. The new policy is part of efforts to ensure safer roads and prevent fatal crashes.
